Initially, I was trying to discover a way to get Packet Tracer on my macbook pro, several suggesting to use Wine. After further research, I realized that Netacad website offers a Mac version of Cisco Packet tracer, but I am having issues upon opening the program and could not find a thread having th. Testing conducted by Apple in October 2020 on production 1.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5-based 13-inch MacBook Pro systems with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and prerelease macOS Big Sur. Systems tested with WPA2 Wi-Fi network connection while running on battery power, with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%.

Starting with Mac OS X 10.6, it is now possible to connect to a Cisco IPSec VPN without having to download any extra software.

Main Set Up Steps

Before you begin please have your VPN IP address, your username, password, shared secret, certificate, and/or group name ready.
